In a recent interview, I sat down with of the brand’s fave rap acts out right now, E$TEVAN THE GOD, the Houston native delivering raucous and sometimes raunchy bars, only a true Southern beau could deliver authentically.

On April 25th, he dropped his single “PLAYBOi” which samples the Frankie Lymon classic “Why Do Fools Fall in Love?” where E$tevan turns the question on its head and instead asks “Why Do Fools Fall in Love…With Me?” subverting expectations and encouraging empowerment in self-worth and exploration.

Along with the single, the rapper also dropped his mixtape Guapo 2: The Guapothon, a dynamic project consisting of traditional trap sounds like “CLOWNS” and a nod to Nicki Minaj’s similarly titled “BAHM BAHM”, the energetic and dare I say c*nty “Vogue 2 (Remix)”; while also featuring 50’s and 60’s samples like the aforementioned “PLAYBOi”, “Carlton Bank$” and the infectious “Cream” which incorporates Duke Ellington’s, “It Dont Mean a Thing (If You Ain’t Got That Swing).”

PLAYBOi” is available on all streaming platforms and Guapo 2: The Guapothon is available for streaming on Soundcloud.
